With under two weeks until the NFL season starts I’ve finally got around to setting up my picks contest for the coming year.
This year will be similar to others; it will be on RunYourPool as it has been in previous years, you’ll be picking 5 games each week against the spread for 1 point, but you’ll have your banker pick, which doubles one of these games to a 2-pointer. There will be a tie-breaker each week which will be the total points scored in one of the games (I think it defaults to MNF) – The spreads lock on Wednesday evening, but you can change your picks right up to kick-off.
- Entry fee is $135 US – Which equates to near enough £100 per entry, a maximum of two entries
- Payouts will be WINNER TAKES ALL.
Payments will be through Teamstake.com – https://teamstake.com/event/37588/invitation – This is to take any worry away from me of my bank accounts, or PayPal getting blocked and me having no means of paying out. There is a small transaction fee on these 5% debit cards, 7% for PayPal, but it’s the only real way around any stress for myself. For a real-life example, it cost me a touch over £110 to enter after conversions and transactions.
Once paid I think you get a link to enter on RYP, if not I’ll keep an eye and send email/X invites for the pool itself.
Payout will be processed the day after the end of the regular season, and if it goes well, I’ll set up a playoff contest as well.
