TNF – Week 13 – Cowboys at Vikings

Week 12 concluded with a comfortable win for the Packers, thanks to a passing masterclass from Aaron Rodgers (30 from 39 for 313yds), he and Davante Adams hit the Eagles for 2 touchdowns for the Pack to win 27-13, to take them to 5-6 and more importantly, keep them alive in the race for the NFC North which could go to any of the teams in there, except the hapless Bears. We were down a point on the night, but they were all dart throws at big odds, I did think that both players would of got more than 2 possessions in the box score though, especially C Mike, but they’re apparently very slowly easing him in. Very slowly. – I do think that Treggs is still one to watch, but i’m done on him for now. Unfortunately this match meant I lost my bloody fantasy match up, leading by 35 pts with this game left, I thought it was all over. But my opposition had Rodgers and Adams… for 40 fricking points.

So this weeks opener see the 10-1 Dallas Cowboys travel up to the defensively solid Minnesota Vikings in their shiny new stadium. The Cowboys have won every match this season since losing the opener vs the Giants, and have looked darn good doing it, last week in fact was the first of the season that they hadn’t beaten the spread, the spread here is set to Cowboys by 3… I don’t care how solid the Vikings defence is, there’s no stopping this Cowboys team at the moment, they’ll just ground down anyone with offensive strength and one of the leagues top 3 running back. There’s just no stopping Zeke since those first time games where he seemed rushed, he’s learnt very quickly to let his leagues best offensive line create a gap for him, and he’s exploited that brilliantly, leading the league in rushing yards with 1,199 so far this season, at an impressive 4.9 yards per carry, he’s added 303 yards in the air as well. The guy is phenomenal, and frankly unstoppable at the moment. Dak is challenging him every step of the way for the OROTY title, but while he’s been incredibly impressive, he really shouldn’t be near Zeke, I guess that will all depend on how far Mr. Prescott takes them through the season, incidentally a win here and couple of other results going their way will guarantee the Cowboys of a playoff spot. It’s between them and the Seahawks for the no.1 NFC seed and they’re a win or two ahead at the moment. Dez Bryant is a dick. But he’s a decent enough wide receiver, he had a 2 TD game last week vs the Redskins and he made sure everyone talked about him during, and the after the game. On any given game he could take a game away from the opposition, but I don’t like him, that and the fact they’re playing a decent defence, means i’m off him in this game. Cole Beasley has been the Cowboys no.1 target this season in the slot, and I don’t see why that wouldn’t happen again tonight. Terrance Williams and Brice Butler may get a look in as backup WRs, but can’t be relied upon. Jason Witten has been having a good year as one of Daks checkdown targets, but again, I don’t trust him. Dak himself can also get a shift on if needed, and he’s on 5 rushing TDs for the season.

Not much to say about the Vikings that I didn’t say last Thursday, They still have no run game, although Asiata can regularly get in from 3 yards if they can get the ball that close. Their defence is good, and is nearly back to full strength which is the sole reason the won the first 5 games. Sam Bradford is an average QB throwing to some average receivers, and Stefon Diggs, who returns from the injury that ruled him out 7 days ago. He’s been Bradford’s main targets, which Dallas will know, but won’t always be able to stop. Alongside him Adam Thielen and Cordarelle Patterson but fail to get a score last week, neither did anything too surprising last week unfortunately for my bets. Kyle Rudolph is probably their best TD scoring bet, although not getting too many targets last week, he’s pretty good, he is actually their shortest priced player to score anytime as well.

So picks for the week. I don’t know how the Cowboys don’t cover the spread here. And unfortunately, I’m probably going for the footy accums bet. Not something I would usually do their asshats who are owned by the bookies, and make money when people lose… BUT… Dallas to win, u50.5 pts and Zeke anytime at 9/4 is too tempting to avoid. I also like their anyone to score 2+, and Dak rushing TD at 13/2. I’m ashamed of myself.

  • Dallas -3 – NAP – 10/11 (Ladbrokes) – 5pts
  • Dak anytime – 10/3 (365)
  • Dall win, u50.5pts Zeke anytime – 9/4 (Skybet)
  • Asiata 1st Min scorer, Zeke anytime, o2.5 FGs, o140.5 rushing yards, Dallas -3.5 – 33/1 (Skybet) – 1pt

10 points total

and I think we’ll stick to that for the night. Although was close to going on McKinnon u44.5 yards, but I hate taking the unders.

Good luck if following
