It’s Chriiiiiiiiiistmaaaaaaaas

Mixed day for us yesterday. Had a few nice winners at pretty good odds. Shady got his TD at 11/10, and if you played the both players to score as singles then you got a lovely 8/1 on McCoy and Stills, unfortunately I had them down in a Trixie and the other two failed. Moncrief scored his usual TD at 7/4. Antonio Gates got one of the two he needs to break the tight end scoring record at 9/5. Davante Adams had his up week and scored at 7/5. But unfortunately we took a few big hits on the other ones. I napped the Chargers to beat the Browns and they failed miserably, hopefully not many of you got on that as I added them late! Jordan Howard and Fat Rob had time out of their games with injuries and annoyingly didn’t get the goal line runs for some reason… Neither did Latavius Murray. There were 4 TDs scored by running backs, none by him, although he was stopped half a yard short when trying to leap over the pile. The Bengals game was a complete write off. 12-10. Fucking ridiculous and a missed field goal with 5 seconds left just about sums up the Bengals this season. If you have notifications turned on for when I tweet then you may have got on Alfred Blue anytime at 16/5 when Miller was ruled out, he got the one Texans TD last night. Won’t be recorded officially but a nice winner nonetheless.

Away from my tips it was a tough week for a couple of QBs. Derek Carr is done for the season after breaking his Fibula, and Marcus Mariota suffered the same injury. Doesn’t matter too much for the Titans as they lost to the Jaguars. You’d have got good odds on the Browns, Jags and 49ers all winning, but there it is. That’s the NFL! Shame for our season long bet though as I’d be surprised if the Browns go and get their second of the season at the Steelers next week! One big plus for the season long bets… David Johnsons looks very likely to be the top TD scorer on the year! 7pts ew at 11/1 is a very nice return!

On to tonight’s action… The AFC North will likely be settled tonight. If the Ravens win they’ll still need to defeat the Bengals next week to take it. But they should do that. Steelers win and they win the division. As the Steelers are a bunch of thundercunts I would much prefer the Ravens to win it, but it seems unlikely. The Steelers and Big Ben are far better at home, Antonio Brown should have a good week as the Ravens are far better shutting down the run than the pass game. Well… I say that. But I don’t think there’s much chance of shutting down Lev Bell. He has such a unique patient style, even though he’s a Steeler. I can appreciate it and he’s up there with Zeke and David Johnson as the top 3 in the league. The Steelers offensive line has been dynamite in recent weeks giving Ben all the time in the world to pass when they do that, and allowing Lev to stroll into the end zone untouched against the Bills and others recently. Other players to watch are Eli Rogers and Jesse James. Ladarius Green is going to be out concussion, probably next week too if earlier in the season is anything to go by. So Rogers and James will probably get more looks. Coates is barely worth a mention now, so that’s about it for the Steelers.

The Ravens will obviously be looking for the win and they rarely let a game get away from them. They have a solid defence and can play on offence if they need. They also do well against divisional rivals, so it should be an interesting match. Flacco has the arm to play down field if needed although he’s not having the best of seasons. Steve Smith snr. Will be looking to put on a show in prime time, he loves the attention and is capable of some big plays despite being virtually a grandad. Mike Wallace seems to be the go to target most of the time, he has some bug games this year, Perriman is hard to call, he has made some big plays and scored some important TDs. But there’s also a chance he’ll do nothing so I can’t trust him for anything. They should try and emphasise the run game more but don’t seem to want to. Terrance West and Kenneth Dixon are both adequate backs, Dixon is the better looking when he runs, but it will probably depend son game script. If they get down, which they probably well against an electric Steelers offence then it should be a more Dixon game than West. I don’t think I’ve mentioned a kicker before in the write up. But I shall tonight. Justin Tucker is the best in the league. He can score from anywhere. And the reason for mentioned is because I’ll more than likely be tipping overs on the longest field goal market.

He Steelers should easily win this but it’s a divisional match with a lot on the line so I’ll be ignoring the handicap and totals.

Kenneth Dixon anytime – 11/4 (365) James and Dixon – 10/1 Rogers and Dixon – 11/1 (both 1 pt at Skybet)

Got some cooking to do. So might be back with a bit on the later match but in fairness there’s not much to talk about. Broncos are boring as hell. Sanders is the most likely scorer for the Broncos. The chiefs are good and have some play makers now. Looking at Tyreek Hill. Oh hang on I’ve got some stats on this game… Broncos are 2-4 vs winning teams this season. The Chiefs have won their last 9 afc west matchups. Basically. Chiefs are gonna win.

I’ll be on D/ST TD at 9/4 (365) Hill anytime 5/2 (Skybet) Sanders anytime 2/1 (365)

Merry Christmas to all. Thank you for following and reading through the season so far. I started this blog as something to do while the wife was doing uni work and something to get my brain working again, being a postman isn’t exactly a testing profession. And I’m very happy with how it’s gone so far, it might not seem like huge numbers compared to other blogs around, but after only 3 months building up to 450 followers and having 200 views on Sunday threads I’m amazed at how far it’s gone already. And at some of the msgs I’ve received on Twitter about the blog. Have had some good chats with followers. Thank you for that.

Having a cracking holiday period and I’ll be back tomorrow with a bit on the Lions v Cowboys.
