TNF – Cardinals at San Fransisco – 06/10/16 @FootbawlTips

So I was right to go low stakes on Monday night as my selections didn’t pay off, I certainly didn’t see the Vikings winning by 14 points, I knew that the Vikings defence was good, but I thought the Giants would at least put up a couple of TDs against them, I quite obviously underrated them, and they took their record at their new stadium to 2 from 2.

Tonight sees the Drew Stanton led Arizona Cardinals travel to the 49ers and man is he happy about it… seriously, i’d of used any excuse in the world to post this, it’s one of my favourite gifs ever, if you can find it, there’s a slightly longer one with an awesome kick at the end of it as well.

The niner will be without their star defensive player Navarro Bowman for the season after he did his Achilles, He was doing a good job of keeping Ezekiel Elliott quiet last week, and the rookie blew up after Bowman left the game, which is not a good sign for San Fran. – They have one of the worst QBs in the league, with not much to throw to, Jeremy Kerley leads the team in targets, and is doing a fair job given the team around him, Torey Smith was expected to be the leader in receptions, but hasn’t had too much so far, last week Vance McDonald was absent, after scoring 2 tds in his first 3 weeks (off 3 catches) so Garrett Celek was in and did a pretty good job as well at Tight end. Carlos Hyde is now their only reason for carrying on the season, he’s been great for them so far, with 2 out of the 4 games ending with him having scored twice. They’ll keep feeding him regardless of the score tonight, so I expect him to go in again.

The Cardinals are without Carson Palmer through a concussion as he failed to clear protocol in the short week, meaning Stanton starts at QB, this is not good for their receivers, and Larry Fitzgerald is probably the only one I would trust to do anything tonight, Stanton doesn’t have the arm for the downfield game they like to play, so guys like Michael Floyd and John Brown may struggle to get theirs. On the flip side, I would expect a boost in production from David Johnson, he’s one of the top 3 RBs in the league, and probably my favourite to watch at the moment; with Bowman out, and on his team, Chris Johnson missing, I can see him going off tonight for a lot of yardage, and hopefully a hatful of TDs, 365 currently have him set at 132 combined yards! Andre Ellington will be the no.2 RB who may get a little look in. Their TE is Darren Fells, an ex-basketball player who could vulture a few red zone looks if they get close enough to it. This Cardinals team hasn’t been firing as of yet, and their have a different guy behind centre, but they HAVE to beat the niners, and really should, especially without Bowman there. The handicap is tempting at Cardinals -3.5

Recommended –

David Johnson anytime – 4/5 (7 pts), Johnson 2 or more – 19/4 – (3pts) Johnson 3 or more – 20/1 – (2pts) – I can’t see him NOT scoring, so the bigger stake on anytime covers the other 2 bets.

Johnson and Hyde both to score – 15/8 (3pts) Skybet

Cardinals -3.5 points – 1/1 (3pts)

Total – 18points.
