#NFLDraft competition time

So I had a good enough response on twitter when I floated the idea of a competition on the draft. So here goes. It won’t cost to enter, and the winner will get an exclusive lifetime subscription to the completely free website we offer here, and of course the pride of knowing more than others in the world of the NFL draft.

There’s not many draft based competitions out there (that I could find from a very quick google), so i’ve decided to make up my own.

All you need to do to enter is either DM me – @TouchdownTips on twitter, or email your selections to cavey007@gmail.com your picks for the first 16 picks (half) of the first round. (Plan was originally all 32 first round picks, but I’m not sure people in general are nerdy enough for that)

Points will be awarded as follows: 5 points for a direct hit – Team and Player correct. 3 points for that team selecting the specific position e.g. Bengals choose a LB at no.9 but not Rueben Foster… (position as per NFL.com, for the record they designate Jabril Peppers as a safety)… , and 1 point for any other team in the first round selecting the player you named. Now I would be very surprised if there’s a draw, but the tiebreaker will be – “What position will LONDON-BORN Obi Melifonwu be selected” I had to get some kind of British based bias into this competition right!?

If you’re struggling with selections then have a look at http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/mock-drafts or http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft or just google NFL Mock draft and you’ll find a ton of information and an idea of who is drafting whom.

In the event of a team trading positions. If a team moves within the top 16 then your pick will stand. (e.g. if the 49ers swap with the Panthers then your picks on both will count) if they move out of the top 16 then it will be void.

I shall collect all the entries into a google docs form which will be accessible by all on Thursday night once the draft commences. Entries have to be in by Thursday 10pm GMT.

Draft positions are as follows –

1. Cleveland Browns
2. San Francisco 49ers
3. Chicago Bears
4. Jacksonville Jaguars
5. Tennessee Titans
6. New York Jets
7. Los Angeles Chargers
8. Carolina Panthers
9. Cincinnati Bengals
10. Buffalo Bills
11. New Orleans Saints
12. Cleveland Browns
13. Arizona Cardinals
14. Philadelphia Eagles
15. Indianapolis Colts
16. Baltimore Ravens

Obviously @jayhatton49 @andyTDTips and myself @cavey007 will be playing in this game so we’ll see how clever we actually are when it comes to the draft! Good luck and enjoy!

Adam
