MNF – Week 5 – #Skol @ #DaBears

Well, another weekend of disappointment frankly. The Charles Clay bet was going to land easily before he suffered a knee injury which ended his game, it was before half time and he was on 31 yards already. That was a higher stake and one that would have set us up nicely for the day. The Steelers were hamstrung by Big Ben who was even more useless than the clock tower in London currently is. The turnovers meant they didn’t get near enough to get a Bell red zone chance let alone TD. Very painful to watch. I won’t be touching any Steelers from this point on.

ASJ finally get a score for us which helped and Andre Ellington got his combined yards, somehow with 105% of them through the air after a -2 rushing attempt. Jaron Brown was 5 yards short, Bryant was 10 yards short, Cook was 10 yards short after he dropped a couple, fumbled one and was missed in the end zone which would have won both of his bets for us.

And of course, because I gave up on Mixon and McCaffery they both went on and scored. That was pretty predictable. I did also say that a tight end would score against the Giants and Hunter Henry obliged there at 11/4. Safe to say another frustrating night.

On to tonight’s match and it will be a short write up. I won’t be tipping anything as it’s just not a match I can pick anything from frankly. I have a couple that I am on personally, but they’re longshots and won’t be recorded on the P/L as I’m not endorsing them for anyone else!

The Vikings are 2-2 after having to endure 3 weeks of Case Keenum. He’s not been horrible, but last week has put me off everything in their passing attack, and since Dalvin Cook was lost for the season I’m not excited by anything in the run game either. the straight replacement for him is Latavius Murray, he’s average, and admitted himself he’s not fully over an ankle injury he’s been carrying all year. Jerrick McKinnon is more of a scat back, and can help in the run and passing game, I think he’ll get a decent amount of use. So I was expecting Bradford to be out, but it looks like he may be starting tonight, if he does then that should be good news for the Vikings, but It doesn’t look like we’ll know until later tonight.

Diggs and Thielen have still been getting solid enough numbers even with Keenum and in theory with no run game to lean on they’ll get more of the ball. Before this weekend they were the top 2 WRs in fantasy which is ridiculous. Diggs has 173 and 98 yards in the last 2 weeks, and Thielen is at 98 and 59 (he missed a bit last week with a knock) So they will still get theirs. Kyle Rudolph however probably won’t despite leading the position in receptions last season. May or may not be worth mentioning the Michael Floyd has been activated for tonight and looks like he’ll play as the WR3 for the Vikings, he’s talented and 13/2 on PP if you fancy a long long shot

They still boast a very good defence who are facing a rookie tonight, so I would expect them to win even in a divisional game on the road, but it’s nothing I’m confident in.

The Bears have finally given up on longneck Glennon. He was tall, that was the height of his abilities as a QB for the Bears. In fairness the lack of targets to throw team really didn’t help him and he could have easily had them at 3-1 if Jordan Howard had caught his chances against the Falcons. At home they pushed the Falcons to the limit and beat the Steelers so it’s no guarantee for the Vikings tonight. So taking over at QB is Mitch(ell) Trubisky.845741922-0

In fairness he looked very good in a pre-season game (against the Titans I think?) he was comfortable and went downfield with ease, it was very impressive and that’s obviously what they’ll be hoping for tonight. But as I said above, they have so few people to throw the ball to that he may struggle as much as Glennon did. They do have a good run game with Jordan Howard and the human joystick Tarik Cohen so I’d imagine that Cohen will get a few dump offs and be allowed to create what he can.

A rookie QBs main man is usually his tight end. The first team TE is Zach Miller, he’s 7/2 to get into the endzone, but rookies and second stringers have been doing all their training with the second string players, so my couple of punts, because of the odds and the theory here are Dion Sims at 10/1 and Adam Shaheen at 16/1 both on skybet (I’m not sure what Ladbrokes/Coral are on but they’ve somehow got Shaheen at 12/5?!)

Skybet have their 3 for 2 on the request a bets again. With Sammy Biscuits expected to start at QB for the Vikings i’ll be on Vikings -3 and Diggs TD at 11/4 then I’ll pick a couple of random ones for the “freebie” – Again I’m not suggesting you follow any especially given my luck recently, but if you wanted to know…

Good Luck if you go on anything tonight!
