It’s WEMBLEY WEEK! I am off to the Chargers v Titans at Wembley this week, got myself a nice TDTips hoody and a cap arriving tomorrow for a bit of selfless whoring of the site while i’m there. Hopefully it will be a good game, but I can see the Chargers running away with it unfortunately, either way, drink drink and be merry if you’re going!
Broncos (-1) @ Cardinals: Total – 42.5
Urgh,. there’s been some great Thursday night football games this season, I doubt this will be one. The Broncos have allowed a 200 yard rusher in 2 consecutive games for the first time in their history, and if I thought the Cardinals coaching staff knew what they were doing I’d predict a good game for David Johnson, if you think that becomes 3 in a row you can get 40/1 on DJ going over 200 tonight (skybet). Alas, I have no faith in them. Christian Kirk has a good connection with Josh Rosen, his yard line is rising by the week. He’s had over 75 in every game with Rosen except of course the game that I tipped him to go over 29.5 yards where he finished on 28 with several drops… Larry Fitzgerald hasn’t hit 40 yards over the last few games, he’s been struggling with a hamstring injury and the go-to man for Rosen seems to be Kirk, however Fitz is a lot better at home, so the line of 42.5 (PP) is interesting. You can take u48.5 if you like the under (skybet) I won’t be on either though in all honesty. JJ Nelson, Chad Williams have both mixed in the passing game, neither can be trusted at all. Ricky Seals-Jones has had a lot of targets with Rosen, and he’s going up against one of the worse teams in the league in defending the tight end, he got 69 yards last week and his line is set at 33.5 tonight at Paddypower. I think I’ll be taking a nibble on that. Jermaine Gresham has been mixed in a little since his return from injury, 1 catch each of the last 2 games, both for decent yardage, he’s 9/1 on Skybet to score.
The Cards defense looked good vs the Vikings last week though. I also have no faith in Denver’s coaching, especially on the road. They should be giving Royce Freeman the ball a lot more as Keenum and the passing game really isn’t working. Freeman and Lindsay are the bright spots of the season for the Broncos, logical coaching would be giving the ball to them two 30 times between them – Annoyingly Devontae Booker has been getting too much of the ball as well, especially when they’re trailing, and while I don’t think they’ll be trailing tonight, a line of 11.5 receiving yards is too low for me to ignore, he’s topped that line in 3 of 6 and hit 11 in one of them too. The passing game has been running pretty much entirely through Emmanuel Sanders in the slot, he won us quite a few bets early in the season but they’ve caught up with his lines now, while I think he will probably still beat 69.5 but it’s a little higher than I’d want to be taking on. He won’t be up against Patrick Peterson who is an elite corner and kept Stefon Diggs to minimal yards last week, he’ll probably be on Demaryius Thomas in this one which makes me definitely not want to touch him, I’d lean under on Thomas, but 50 yards is a low line I won’t be taking. At tight end they’ve been increasingly using Jeff Heuerman, he’s had 4 or more targets in his last 4 games, and his yards are set low at 24.5, I like the overs there, he’s only 10/3 to score though which is far too low. The other red zone threat they’ve been trying to use is Courtland Sutton, the rookie has had a fair few targets in the paints, at 3/1 he’s probably worth an outside shot as away from Pat Pete the Cards defense isn’t great. Daesean Hamilton had some action when there were injuries against the Jets, they were his only targets on the season, so even at 20s I think I’m avoiding him.
